9/9 Tuesday Barb Means, 432-4903. Easy paddle in Nine Mile Swamp, north of Sherburne. Bring life jacket and lunch/snack to eat in the canoe. Meet by the laundromat in Morris at 10 o'clock for the hour plus drive to the put-in off Rt.12.

Tuesday, September 16 - Hike at North-South Lake State Park. We will leave Price Chopper parking lot at 8:30 a.m. It is about a 1 hr. 15-30 min. drive. Bring the usual lunch, water and, depending on the weather, a bathing suit and towel. Parking fee is $5 unless, as is the case with our crew, we have a 62 year old (or older) driver with valid driver's license. Such cars are free on week-days.

Susquehanna Chapter meetings resume on Wednesday, September 17 at Elm Park Church, 401 Chestnut Street, Oneonta. Following a 6 p.m. covered dish supper, the 7 p.m. program will be "Mountain Top to Tap--the Journey of Water from the Catskills to New York City" presented by Aaron Bennett, Director of Education at the ERPF Center in Arkville, NY. The program will be followed by a business meeting at 8 p.m.

HIKE INFORMATION FOR TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2008
CHANGED TO BASSWOOD POND

There is a slight change in our hike for Tuesday, September 23, 2008. We will do our hike at Basswood Pond and anyone who would like to, can stop with us on our way back to Oneonta at Tom & Jo Salo's Christmas Tree Farm to look over the two new ponds and the very interesting Root Cellar.
Time: 9:30 AM we leave the old Ames parking lot. Meet at the Family Dollar end.

I'm going to take the mower up to Arnold lake on Sunday September 28 to cut back the trail in some places and get ready for the ski season. I'll be in the Joe Cornell parking lot at 10AM. Anyone interested can join for a couple hours of trail work. Joe Hart, 829-8358

Leaders: Ernie or Heide Mahlke, 432-2582. Hike to Balsam Lake Mt. Tower in the Catskills. A relatively easy 2.95 miles to tower and return for a total of 5.9 miles. Bad weather alternative: Oct. 5th.
