Ernest and Heide Mahlke will lead a hike in the Northlake/Southlake area, to perhaps duplicate last year's wonderful laurel sitings, when no one had a camera. We will meet at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 13th at the far end of the Hannaford lot (facing the river). Contact the Mahlkes at 432-2583
The Tuesday hike for June 16th, will meet at 9:30 a.m. at Pine Lake, the Hartwick College Camp, for an app. 2 hour hike with some ups and downs. We'll stay around the lake area, and not go to Mud Lake, since we only got our feet wet there, recently. We'll have lunch in the pavillion. For more info call Ernest or Heide Mahlke at 432-2583.
The Susquehanna Chapter Picnic/Meeting will be at the first pavillion at Gilbert Lake on Wednesday, June 17 from 5-8 p.m. We will eat at 6 p.m. (The pavillion is the closed stone structure at the end of the lake up the road and across from the large parking lot.) Bring your table service and a dish to pass.
We will hike from our house along the railroad tracks, through the wooded area at the south end of Goodyear Lake to the Colliers Dam, about a 2-hour walk. Anyone wanting a shorter and easier hike can walk the lake roads, about a 1-hour walk (I'll provide you with a map). We will eat lunch at our house when we return. Ice cream and cold beverages provided. Car pool from Price Chopper @ 9:45 or meet at our house @ 10:00. Call Linda Pearce @ 432-8969 if you have any questions.

Doug and Scott Fielder (433-2727) will lead a hike at the SUCO College Camp on Tuesday, July 7 beginning at 10 a.m. The hike will be about 1.8 miles and should take less than two hours. There is one lengthy, moderate to strenuous hill, which we will climb very slowly. Since there may be some wet spots, you should bring waterproof shoes. We will eat lunch near or in the camp lodge after the hike. We will meet at the parking lot near the lodge and leave at 10 a.m. Those who wish to car pool should make their own arrangements.
