Due to misinformation about the start of hunting season, there will be NO soup and hike on Means' property. Rather than cancel, we can hike Upper Riddell State Park where hunting is not permitted, according to a phone conversation with a ranger. Meet at 10 o'clock to walk up and back down the mountain. The hike I am leading on December 8 will meet at 10AM at my house on Schoolhouse Road in Fly Creek. We will start up through a field, onto a road and proceed by road around and back to Fly Creek. Probably a distance of about 3.5 miles. I will have soup ready here when we return. I decided on this plan due to hunting season being open in the State public areas. At 7 pm we’ll review the year with your photos, digital pictures to project, and/or slides (from a bygone era, but welcome as we have a projector and a carousel.). We will meet at Price Chopper at 9:30 a.m. just inside the entrance to the parking lot. From there we will car pool to the mail parking lot at the Crumhorn Mt. Boy Scout Camp, diagonally across from their swimming area, where we will meet people from other areas at 10:00 a.m. After a walk on the camp trails or the dirt roads, depending on conditions, we can adjourn to Jackie's Restaurant in Milford for lunch.
