We will meet at the Farmer's Museum parking lot, across from the big stone barn/gift shop on Rt. 80 on Jan. 5 at 10AM. Hikers from Oneonta will meet at 9:15 a.m. at PriceChopper to carpool to Cooperstown. We will ski or snowshoe on the Otsega Golf Course and then go to Mary Dunkle's for soup on Tuesday. OCCA is sponsoring a snowshoe or hike event on Sunday, January 10 at 12:30 PM from Riddell State Park to Mudd Lake and return. The hike is about 3 1/2 hours long. It will be led by Steve Kent. Mr Kent and his wife, Patty Riddell Kent, donated the land for the Park to NYS in memory of Mrs. Kent's father Robert V. Riddell . Riddell Park is located off I 88 on Exit 17. Turn right at the exit if coming from Oneonta and left if coming from Albany. Park on the left or right side of Gersoni Road and walk up into the Park entrance where people will meet. Tuesday, January 12, 2010, we will Ski, Snowshoe, or Hike at Gilbert Lake State Park. Meet at 10 AM in the FIRST PARKING LOT. Those wishing to caravan from Oneonta should leave by 9:30 AM from the parking lot off of Winney Hill Road near the Dollar Store. The REVISED trail-pattern we wish to follow starts on the left side of the lake, cross the road and up the hill.

Meet - Old Ames Parking Lot, Family Dollar End for carpooling. Time - Leave there at 9:30 AM for Basswood Pond. We will travel north on Route 205, turning west onto Route 80 toward Burlington Flats where we will turn right on County Route 16 to Jacobs Road. If you want to meet us along the way, please call Rita Salo for arrangements.

Wednesday, January 20, monthly meeting at Elm Park United Methodist Church. 6 pm. Potluck supper will be followed at 7 pm by the annual meeting highlighting the events of 2009, and review of the year with thanks, acknowledgments and committee reports.

We visited the Greenway Monday afternoon and discovered too much water and ice to safely hike there on Tuesday.

We will be taking an alternative hike on streets and roads starting from our home at the Plains, for a total distance of about 3.5 miles.
