Meet - Old Ames Parking Lot, Family Dollar End for carpooling. Time - Leave there at 9:30 AM for Basswood Pond. We will travel north on Route 205, turning west onto Route 80 toward Burlington Flats where we will turn right on County Route 16 to Jacobs Road. If you want to meet us along the way, please call Rita Salo for arrangements.

Wednesday, January 20, monthly meeting at Elm Park United Methodist Church. 6 pm. Potluck supper will be followed at 7 pm by the annual meeting highlighting the events of 2009, and review of the year with thanks, acknowledgments and committee reports.

We visited the Greenway Monday afternoon and discovered too much water and ice to safely hike there on Tuesday.

We will be taking an alternative hike on streets and roads starting from our home at the Plains, for a total distance of about 3.5 miles.

NIna and Joe Hart will be leading the hike on Feb. 2. The hike is ski or snowshoe at Texas Schoolhouse State Forest. Meet at Ames parking lot in Oneonta's West End at 9:30 a.m. Bring lunch. 829-8358

Stephen Bonnell and Linda J. Melchionne will lead a snowshoeing hike around Clark's Tower on February 9. The people from Oneonta can meet at 9:30 a.m. to carpool from the West Gate Plaza (a.k.a., the old Ames parking lot) on the corner of Chestnut and Winney Hill Road and drive to the Cooperstown Great American parking lot by 10:00 to meet the rest of the group there. Tuesday, February 16 Norma Lee Havens will lead a Cross Country Ski or hike at Gilbert Lake State Park. The people from Oneonta can meet at 9:30 a.m. to carpool from the former Ames parking lot on the corner of Chestnut Street and Winney Hill Road. The group meeting place at Gilbert Lake will be the first parking lot (not the third upper lot). This will enable us to have one group which can easily do the trail around the Lake. We will all start out from the first parking lot. Call me if you have a question. Bring your lunch and water.

Remember to bring your soup bowls and as always, your other utensil. At 7 p.m. Aleda Koehn, Carol Saggese and Julie Smith will share their Utah National Parks camping and hiking experiences with stories and their photos.
