Leader: Joe Hart - 829-8358 - Bear Swamp meet at Price Chopper at 9:30 am or Milford at 9:45.

Picnic, 5:30-8:00, at the former YMCA Day Camp, West Laurens. Bring dish to pass, table service, and beverage. Meet at Ames, 5:15, to carpool to the Y. Park or drive from Ames at Chestnut to Rt. 23 West 6.4 miles. Look for a pink ADK sign. Turn left onto YMCA Road and follow about 1 mile to the entrance on right. We will plan to explore the old trails after the picnic, if you wish. Wear long pants as there is tall grass, waterproof footwear as there may be some wet spots, and bug spray. The hike for Tuesday, August 3 will be the rail trail from Bloomville to South Kortright led by Fran Darrah. Meet at Price Chopper at 9:00 a.m. to car pool. Bring lunch. Easy level walking. Call Fran at 286-9126, for any questions.

There has been a change in the location of the Tuesday Hike on August 10, 2010.

Please meet at my house at 698 Winney Hill Road, Oneonta at 10:30 AM, for a hike to the crest of Winney Hill where we will walk in the woods and a little bit on the dirt road. There are a few hills, some up, some down. We will circle back to the house, where we will have drinks and dessert. Bring your lunch.

We are located diagonally across the road from The Crescent Pet Lodge. Someone will be outside to help with parking.

This is a canoe/kayak event at Nine Mile Swamp, at Wickwire Road, off Route 12 north of Sherburne. At 9 o'clock, meet to caravan with your canoe/kayak near the laundromat in Morris for the one hour drive north. Bring life jacket, snack, sun screen, and water. This is an easy paddle in fairly still water where the Loomis Gang hid their stolen horses and cattle over a century ago. Call Barb Means, 432-4903, if you have questions.

Aug 18 Picnic at Crumhorn Lake--Come about 3:00 to enjoy a swim or boat ride. Bring a dish to pass for supper at 6:00. Bring your own boats if you wish, we have a canoe and two kayaks, and a lawn chair, as we only have about eight. Directions--follow Rt 7 about 10 mi. out of Oneonta and turn left onto Co Rt 42 at the Dream Farm and Boy Scout sign across from the big white Morehouse Farm barn. Follow the Boy Scout Camp signs for two more lefts and then left at Hall Rd. In Hall Rd. stay left to no. 150. This is a total of 5 lefts starting at Rt. 7. Please get out your Co.
