Tuesday, September 21 we will hike on Land Trust Property in Phoenix Mills. Meet at 10 am. Oneonta Price Chopper at 9:30. From Rt. 28 below Cooperstown turn right on Phoenix Mills Rd. Go past the Otsego Manor. Just before the STOP, ROAD CLOSED sign turn right into lane to parking area. Bring lunch. . Land Trust people will join us for a bit of history and other info. Stephen Bonnell and Linda J. Melchionne (315-858-0359) will be leading the hike Tuesday, September 28th. We will meet at the Cooperstown Price Chopper (the old Great American) at 9:30 a.m. then drive north to Van Hornsville . Hopefully, we will arrive at the Owen D. Young School around 10:00 a.m. to begin the hike along the stream in back of the school. There are some picnic tables there where we can eat our lunch.
October 5 hike is in Delhi. Meet at Hannaford parking lot at 9:00 a.m. for carpooling. Bring Lunch, Water, Sit-upon. I advise boots since there are wet spots. Poles if you want. We hike aprox. 2 1/2 to 3 miles, some bushwacking. Level B maybe. Any questions, call Erika at 607-432-0405.
HIkers will meet on October 12 at 9:30 a.m. at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown. We will go up to Fernleigh Farm and do the loop hike up to Star Field and return. It will require doing a siginificant uphill section, then returning down through the open field and back to the wood road. Wear hiking boots.....it is about 3.5 - 4 miles and will probably be until about noon. Everyone will be on their own for lunch. Any questions contact Kay Kantorowski at 547-5528.
We will meet in Otego at the Quickway truck plaza off of Exit 12 (Otego) at 9:45 a.m. Oneonta people could meet at 9:30 at old Ames parking lot - corner Whinney Hill Rd. and Chestnut and carpool to Otego meeting spot.
