October 5 hike is in Delhi. Meet at Hannaford parking lot at 9:00 a.m. for carpooling. Bring Lunch, Water, Sit-upon. I advise boots since there are wet spots. Poles if you want. We hike aprox. 2 1/2 to 3 miles, some bushwacking. Level B maybe. Any questions, call Erika at 607-432-0405.

HIkers will meet on October 12 at 9:30 a.m. at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown. We will go up to Fernleigh Farm and do the loop hike up to Star Field and return. It will require doing a siginificant uphill section, then returning down through the open field and back to the wood road. Wear hiking boots.....it is about 3.5 - 4 miles and will probably be until about noon. Everyone will be on their own for lunch. Any questions contact Kay Kantorowski at 547-5528.

We will meet in Otego at the Quickway truck plaza off of Exit 12 (Otego) at 9:45 a.m. Oneonta people could meet at 9:30 at old Ames parking lot - corner Whinney Hill Rd. and Chestnut and carpool to Otego meeting spot. We will then all proceed to the hiking trails and hike should start at 10:00. Bring $1.00 for entrance fee, water, lunch and you might want a hiking pole. Questions: Ruth Schaeffer 988-7036

Oct. 20, Monthly Meeting Doug and Scott Fielder will show photos from their trip to Alaska in July, featuring Denali National Park, the Kenai Peninsula, and Anchorage.

The original description for the hike should have included the fact, that we plan to hike to an escarpment view point on the Long Path in Middleburgh in the A.M. and then drive over to Vroman's Nose after lunch. Of course for the hikers who do not wish to add the Vrooman's Nose portion they can just drive home. Hikers should meet at 9:30 a.m. on Sat. in the Price Chopper lot on the east end of Oneonta. Bring lunch, water, and hiking shoes/poles. Elevation gain will be about the same for both peaks, app. 600ft. Call 432-2583 if you need to know more.

The Tuesday, October 26 hike will be led by Fran Darrah on Chlorinator Rd. in Milford. It will be an easy walk on a dirt road which is 4 miles out and back and should take about 2 hrs. Anyone not wanting to do the whole thing can turn around any time. All those who wish can have lunch at Jackie's with Fran. The Oneonta group will meet at Price Chopper at 9:30 a.m. and at Bev Hensle's at 10:00. There is a lot just below the house where several cars can park. Those needing directions can call Fran at 286-3301.
