Susquehanna Chapter ADK

Here is a hike for everyone, a shorter, easier, 2 mile version and a longer, vigorous, 3 mile version. The hike begins 10:00 am at the Nordic Ski parking area on the corner of hwy 46 and Joe Cornell’s Road. For 1 mile the trail descends through lovely woods to hwy 46. Across the highway we will take a loop trail back to hwy 46 on Hartwick’s Public Land. At this point we will have reached the 2 mile point. Those wishing to avoid the steep 1 mile ascent to the Joe Cornell parking area will be transported there by car. Everyone else will hike to the parking lot. We estimate that the hike will end about 12:45 pm. Lunches can be eaten in the parking lot. Hike leaders: Virginia & Currie Marr, 432-5434.
Directions:
From Oneonta: Please meet at Price Chopper in Oneonta, where cars will leave at 9:30 am for the Nordic Ski parking area on Joe Cornell’s Road.

From Cooperstown: Travel hwy 28 to Milford, turn right at the light on to hwy 44, and right again on to hwy 46. Travel uphill and turn left on Joe Cornell’s Road. The Nordic Ski parking area is on the left and is about 5 miles from Milford’s intersection.

From Cherry Valley: Travel hwy 166 to Milford, at the light continue straight on to hwy 44, and then turn right on to hwy 46. Travel uphill and turn left on to Joe Cornell’s Road. The Nordic Ski parking area is on the left and is about 5 miles from Milford’s intersection.
