Hartwick State Forest Hike

HARTWICK STATE FOREST HIKE - Sept. 7 . Meet at Biological Field Station Barn on Zakow (or Zachow) Road at 10:00.
ONEONTA GROUP - Currie Marr has agreed to lead the group from the old Ames at 9:30; Proceed on St. Rt. 205; turn left onto WHITEHOUSE ROAD; keep right at the V where Whitehouse turns into ZAKOW. Pass State Line Road and continue a very short distance to the Biological Field Station barn on the right where you will park. Irv will meet the groups there.
COOPERSTOWN GROUP proceed north on Rt. 28 to West onto Rt. 80 and South onto 205 and then right onto Whitehouse road, (see above) …OR - take Rt. 80 2-3 miles and turn left onto ZAKOW road to the Biological Field Station barn on the left to park.
The group will hike to the shelter - visit the dock on Cranberry Bog … and proceed taking the YELLOW Ridge Trail to the bridge and Beaver ponds. Return the same way (or return on the Red trail, depending on Leader‘s decision). There are some hills over the ridge with ups and downs on the loop. Total distance is about 3 miles.
