Gilbert Lake State Park Hike – Tuesday, February 20, 2018

Report by Aleda Koehn - After snow, cold, heavy rain, warm, and predictions of more showers, Tuesday turned out to be a beautiful day in our neighborhood - sunny and in the fifties. A group of 20 came out for a welcome respite from winter. Four of the group started to walk around the lake in a counter clock wise direction but found portions of the trail icy.

Lower Riddell State Park - Tuesday, February 13, 2018

Report by Linda Pearce - After a few weeks of bad weather on hike day, we finally had a nice, sunny morning for our outing at Lower Riddell Sate Park. Thirteen of us hiked a 2.6 mile trail through the park. We found the walking rather "challenging" as we maneuvered around icy, crusty and rough conditions. Following the hike, a few of us went to Pondo's for lunch.

Report by Kathy Carey - Ten ADK hikers came out to Ridge Road in Delhi for a hike the day after Christmas. We hiked a rolling trail through the woods and fields for 2 hours. It was cold. There was about 2 inches of snow cover and not too bad until we got to the field on top of the hill where the wind was blowing. Then we hurried back to the house for a hot soup lunch!

Report by Currie Marr - Based on a weather advisory of slippery roads, the Gilbert Lake hike was cancelled. The cancellation notice was posted on the ADK website and people congregating at the old-Ames plaza were told. Earlier this year only 1 ornament remained on the Charlie Brown tree. So, you can image my surprise to find the tree redecorated when I previewed the route on Monday.
